DVD movie reviews...

First of all ...

Unleashed: Probably the strongest Jet Li's US offering. Actually,
I think it is on eof the best Jet Li movies ever! The fights are well coreographed but not only that, since he was raised as a dog, he "fights" like one (he attacks
just one and defends if someone else comes and then attacks the first person again!). Dramatically the movie soares. Morgan Freeman and the "girl" (I forget her name) are very very good and I think this is the one movie that Jet can be recognized not only as a martial artist but as an actor!

The DVD transfer is extremely crisp and the Unrated version also has the extended version in the same DVD. There's a good amount of features in the DVD which completes the whole package. Still, buy this DVD if only for the movie, definitely one of the best I've seen all year and one if not the best of Jet Li's.

Land of the Dead: Well ... I already review this movie and although I love the movie the DVD is crap. It includes a great DTS track along with the normal 5.1 audio but the Special Features material (which is why actually bought the movie since a zombie movie is just ... a zombie movie) is lacking.
First of all the commentary ... it's more dead than the zombies with a lot of looooong pauses which is really weird because there are three people in all doing it. George Romero didn't even offer much insight. Could it be because the movie is so new that he hasn't organized his ideas? I don't know ... The "making of" is just 12 minutes long, the special effects bit is kind of cool but the beast of the features is from when the guys from Shaun of the Dead met George for the first time.

Still, if you want to complete the quadrology?!?! but Land of the Dead. It's fun for Halloween anyway! :p

And don't spend all of your money yet, this coming Tuesday comes a DVD that I have been waiting for a loooong time ... the Special Edition Office Space DVD!
Talk about nice!
I'm sure it will be a big step from the 1999 Bare bones one. (it better be!).

That's all for today.
I'm bored @ work ... and just when I was writing this, my supervisor just came
and pointed me at an email sent that provided work! YAY!

Ok. Bye.
